The wood is Olea europaea (Ulivo).
What better tree for our sustenance, the most healthy and natural as possible. It's a tree that reaches easily, if not disturbed, the age of a thousand years. His wisdom therefore has no equal and the feelings that it can give are as precious as sapphires.
It has a very hard wood, with veins and irregular decided.
It has a length of 17cm and a width of 3.4cm. Its weight is about 190 grams
L’olivo
Argento placcato di verde
mi sembra la foglia
che il verno giammai non dispoglia
nè il vento disperde.
Egli offre la drupa sua nera
in tempo d’avvento,
al tordo che vola contento,
all’uomo che spera.
E quando il freddo è più vivo,
con funi, con scale,
con cesti e panieri si sale
la pianta d’olivo.
Usando un arnese ad uncino
s’incurvan le vette,
si strusciano e s’empion sacchette
chè aspetta il mulino.
